Mark (Markyboy) Haining is an artist from Alexandria born in 1982, who works from his  home studio in the picturesque area of Loch Lomond. 

 

'I started to draw at an early age, my first commission- a horse picture at the age of 10 for a local restaurant in Jamestown, where my mother worked as a cleaner. I have always emersed myself in art to escape.'  

Mark later won several school art prizes and gained his higher art award before leaving school and committing to a successful 25+ years career in Horticulture, teaching and leadership.

Mark picked up a pencil in 2019 and created a bold elephant drawing which quickly sold. This single drawing stirred his creative desire to pursue an art career which he felt he sorely missed out on, so he created more, journeyed from selling his art at exhibitions and eventually to permanent galleries.

Mark's artworks are bold and creative, unique and unshackled - free from restraint.
